Col. (Ret.) Jerry Lane Sinclair, age 81, of 1302 Tralee Bay Ave., Melbourne died Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Autumn House of Melbourne, FL.
Mr. Sinclair was born June 17, 1936 the son of Carl and Ozella Bradley Sinclair.
Jerry was a native of Camden, SC and a graduate of Clemson University. He also received his Master's Degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He served in the US Air Force for 30 years, after serving as Vice Commander with the then Eastern Space and Missile Center, Base Commander of Elsworth Air Force Base, Commander of the U2 Squadron in Korea as well as other command positions. Jerry's career included flying B-52's and U2's. Jerry was very active in the local civilian military organization and his church Indialantic. He earned many honors during his service to the Air force including: The Distinguished Flying Cross; The National Defense Service Medal; The Meritorious Service Medal with four bronze oak leaf clusters; as well as many others. Col. Sinclair was a member of the First Baptist Church of Indialantic, FL. Jerry will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife: Lynda Lane Sinclair; daughter: Beth Sinclair; and grandchildren: Gayle Perry and Morgan Sinclair.
The Graveside Service will be Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 11:00AM at Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro with full military honors provided by Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to First Baptist Church Indialantic, 170 Washington Ave., Indialantic, FL 32903 or Brevard Alzheimer's Foundation, 4676 M. Wickham Rd., Melbourne, FL 32935.
