Clyde Henry Cox

Clyde Henry "Pete" Cox, age 81, of 2539 Highway 42 South, Asheboro died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Mr. Cox was born July 11, 1931 in Randolph County, NC the son of John Henry Cox and Pearl Mae Spoon Cox. Clyde attended Crossroad Baptist Church and Sunday School. He retired from Acme McCrary after 38 years of service. He enjoyed raising chickens as a hobby, loved his grandchildren, and was known for his good natured "picking" on people. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two sisters, Gladys Cox and Nonevieve Craven. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Opal Irene Cox, daughter, Renee Russell and her husband, Robbie of Advance, NC, grandchildren, Brittany Russell, Brandon Russell and Bella Russell of Advance, NC, and brother, Clayson Cox and his wife, Peggy of Asheboro. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 30, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be held at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Johnny R. Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
