Clyde Colon Dawkins, Sr, age 92, of Asheboro died Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Universal Health Care of Ramseur.
Mr. Dawkins was born August 27, 1924 the son of Calvin Scott and Ida Mae Greene Dawkins.
Clyde served in the US Marine Corps during World War II at Iwo Jima.
He retired from Lowes Hardware in Asheboro and was a member of Russell's Grove Baptist Church. Clyde is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Dawkins, son, Kenneth Dawkins and daughter-in-law, Sue Dawkins.
He is survived by his son: Clyde "Junior" Dawkins, Jr (Ginger) of Randleman; grandchildren: Lori Williams (Alan) and Katie White (Dean); great grandchildren: Morgan Williams, Fallon White and Cash White; brothers: W.C. Dawkins of Kissimmee, FL and Lloyd Dawkins of Asheboro; daughter-in-law, Janice Dawkins.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 21, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Worthville Baptist Church, 1053 Castle Rock Road, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Junior Dawkins officiating. Burial will be at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro with military rites performed by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
