Clyde Roland Brewer

Clyde Roland Brewer, age 92, of 106 W. Strider St., Asheboro died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Balfour Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth L. Reaves and Rev. Gene Booker officiating. Burial will be in Brown's Chapel Christian Church Cemetery, 608 Brown's Chapel Church Rd., Robbins, with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Brewer was a native of Moore County and a US Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of American Legion Post 45 and a charter member of the WWII Memorial. Mr. Brewer was a member of Balfour Baptist Church and was retired from Burlington Industries after 37 years of service. In addition to his parents, Eli and Mary Moore Brewer, Mr. Brewer was preceded in death by his first wife, Cornie Sanders Brewer and infant son, Rolen Brewer. He is survived by his wife, Frances B. Brewer; daughters, Ruby Needham and her husband John of Asheboro, Clydeene Routh of Asheboro; brother, James "Otis" Brewer of Oppelousia, LA; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren and 1 step grandchild. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 22, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Memorials may be made to Balfour Baptist Church, 1644 N.
