Clinton James "CJ" Talbert, age 73, of 2334 Mack Road, Asheboro died Sunday, May 16, 2010 at his home, Asheboro.
Mr. Talbert was born November 17, 1936 in Randolph County, NC the son of James Anderson and France Louette Jarrett Talbert.
Mr. Talbert was a native of Randolph County and a member of Landmark Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army and also served in the Army National Guard. CJ was owner and operator of C's Automatic Transmission Service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson: Ethan Elliott.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Ellna Garner Talbert; daughters: Robin Elliott and her husband, Kent of Asheboro and Terrie Talbert of Randleman; granddaughter, Sarah Elliott; sister: Doris Talbert Pierce of Asheboro; brother: Donald Ray Talbert and his wife, Nancy of Randleman, NC.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 17, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home.
The funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Landmark Baptist Church, 2816 Spoons Chapel Road, Asheboro with Rev. Frank Barrett officiating.
Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
