Cletus Henley Wilson, age 92, of Asheboro passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the Randolph Hospice House.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Randolph County on July 31, 1925 to William Clyde and Faye Poole Henley. She was an active church member and loved to sing in the choir. Cletus was retired, with over 50 years of service, as a seamstress with Acme-McCrary. She was a member of the Cedar Falls Historical Society. In addition to her parents, Cletus was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, J.W. Wilson, Jr. and her sister, Julia H. Saunders. Cletus was a red headed fireball who loved to work. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.
She is survived by her sons, Vernon Clyde Wilson and wife Marlene of Las Cruces, NM and Roger Lee Wilson and wife Susan of Asheboro; grandchildren, Amy, John, and Bonnie; great grandchild, Trinity; and brothers, Joseph Henley and Donald Henley.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Benedict officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
