Clem Morris, age 83, of 2073 NC Hwy 134N, Troy died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at his home.
Mr. Morris was born May 1, 1926 in Montgomery County, NC, the son of Milas and Edna (Hardister) Morris. He was an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Troy where he held positions as a former Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher and Deacon. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be missed. He was a retired supervisor in the furniture industry.
He is survived by his wife: Louise Thompson Morris of the home; one daughter: Carol M Goforth and husband, Charlie of Troy; one son: Benson Morris and wife, Janie of Troy;
4 grandsons: Greg Goforth, Michael Goforth, Brian Morris, Chad Morris; 7 great-grandchildren: Micaela Morris, Lauren Morris, Madison Morris, Avery Morris, Matthew Goforth, Miranda Goforth, Jake Goforth.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 pm at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 412 Bell Street, Troy with Rev. Vernon McDaniel, Rev. Grady Blakely and Rev. Jerry Mabry officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, Troy.
