Claude Edward Morris, age 103, of 721 Crouch St., Troy died Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at his home.
Mr. Morris was born June 15, 1902 in Montgomery, NC, the son of the late Pressley M. and the late Martha Vuncannon Morris. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, member of the church choir and an avid fox hunter. He was a retired poultry salesman. He served his country during World War II as member of the Auxiliary Military Police serving as a security guard at Carolina Aluminum of Badin. He was preceded in death by a son, Otis Morris.
He is survived by his wife Villie M. Morris of the home; one daughter: Joyce Morris Hicks of Troy; three sons: Phillip Morris of Dublin, GA, Ross Morris of Rock Hill, SC, Neal Morris of Statesboro, GA; two sisters: Leona Galloway and Grace Robbins, both of Asheboro; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 18, 2006 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home. The funeral will be Friday, May 19, 2006 at 11:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church, 239 N. Russell Street, Troy with Rev. Mike Davis officiating. Burial will be in Love Joy United Methodist Church Cemetery, Substation Rd., Troy.
