Stewart Harwell

Claude Stewart Harwell, age 72, passed away on February 4, 2025.

Mr. Harwell was born in Randolph County on July 28, 1952 to Buford and Claudia Cheek Harwell. Stewart was formerly employed as a Fixer with Union Carbide. Stewart had his pilot’s license and worked for a period of time at the Asheboro Regional Airport. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. 

He is survived by his sister, Candace Harwell Dallas of Pinehurst; brother, Jeffrey William Harwell (Kathy) of Asheboro; and nieces, Sara Dowd, Hannah Dallas (Andrew Midgette), and Christine Harwell.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Randolph Memorial Park with Rev. Kevin Skogen officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, 831 E. Pritchard St., Asheboro, NC 27203.
