Clarice Mae Henley Brower, age 93, of 613 Worth St., Asheboro died Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.
Mrs. Brower was born November 12, 1914, the daughter of Daniel Arthur and Loualta Pugh Henley. She was a graduate of Asheboro High School, Class of 1933. She was a homemaker and longtime member of Central United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School in the children's department for more than 69 years. She was also and honorary member of the administrative church board, member of the Christian Homemaker's Sunday School class and the Good Times Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 70 years, Otis Brower, her parents and also by her sister, Elizabeth Tuttle and brothers, Floyd and Fred Henley.
She is survived by: son and his wife, Stanley and Cindy Brower of Asheboro, NC; son: David Brower of Elon, NC; two brothers: Alfred Henley of San Francisco, CA,; Joseph Henley of Vallejo, CA; granddaughter and her husband, Ashley and Cory Havens; grandson, Raymond Brower and granddaughter, Katherine Brower all of Asheboro, NC
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 17, 2008, from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at her home. The funeral will be Friday, April 18, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Central United Methodist Church, 300 South Main Street, Asheboro with Rev. Barry L. Queen officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
