Clarence Ray Moran, age 71, of Randleman died Monday, June 13, 2016 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.
Mr. Moran was born January 6, 1945 the son of Edmon and Beatrice Bowman Moran.
Clarence was a native of Randolph County and formerly employed in the furniture industries. He attended Woodfern Baptist Church in Seagrove.
In the days before Clarence got sick he loved his old cars and dune buggies! It brought him pleasure to restore old cars and build dune buggies. He loved taking the dune buggies and riding on the beaches around Carolina beach. Clarence was a good neighbor. He knew everybody in town and they knew him. He never met a stranger and loved to sit around up town Randleman and reminisce about old times and tell tall tales. He was the very best daddy, grandpa and great grandpa ever; he loved nothing better than spending time with them and telling them how much he loved them.
A few years back a granddaughter, Amanda Jo, was killed in an automobile accident. He spent his last years wishing he could see her again. We hurt and hated to give him but we take comfort that he knew his Lord, is no longer in pain and is there in heaven with Amanda Jo smiling down on all of us today.
In addition to his parents, Clarence is preceded in death by his brothers, Larry, Roger, Charles and Carl; sister: Martha Lambe; and granddaughter, Amanda Sweatt.
He is survived by his wife: Juanita Moran of the home; daughters: Gail Sweatt of Randleman, and Pam Wilson (Dean) of Randleman; son: Mitchell Moran (Mia) of Randleman; grandchildren: Ashley Cooper (Robbie), Jyssica Robinson (Will), Meredith Seals (Mitchell); Ryan Wilson (Kayla), Taylor Wilson, Jodi Justice (Troy); Tori Moran (fiance Brandon) Dalton Moran; great grandchildren: Matrix Seals, Austin Cooper, Ricky Caruso, Chloe Cooper, Mackenzie Faircloth, Kaydence Robinson, and Jace Paschal; sisters: Peggy Gray (Charlie), Patsy Spencer and Pauline Isom (J.W.) all of Asheboro, and Genevieve Brown (Greg) of Randleman; brothers: Edward Moran of Randleman, Wayne Moran of Asheboro, Elvis Moran (Barbara) of Asheboro, and Johnny Moran (Sue) of Randleman; sister-in-law Ann Moran and extended family members.
