Clarence Moses Luther, age 81, of 419 Friendly Acres Rd., Asheboro died Friday, September 4, 2009 at his home.
Mr. Luther was a native of Randolph County. He was self employed, hanging sheetrock, a handy man and a master woodworking craftsman. Clarence retired from B.B. Walker Shoe, Mfg. as a shipping supervisor and worked part time with Jim's Car Wash. He was an avid fisherman and was a member of Central Carolina Bassmasters. Mr. Luther was preceded in death by his parents; James Franklin and Hattie Cox Luther, a daughter: Patricia Ann Luther and the twin brother of Penny Ann Luther Spencer.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Mildred Butterworth Luther, five sons: Johnny Mack Luther, Michael Lee Luther, Walter "Pete" Luther, Dwight Douglas "Doug" Luther, Timothy Wayne "Tim" Luther all of Asheboro, NC; two daughters: Deborah "Debbie" Luther Nance and Penny Ann Luther Spencer both of Asheboro, NC, 11 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and one sister: Dora Marion of Sophia, NC.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 7, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
The funeral will be Tuesday, September 8, 2009, 11:00 AM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Rev. Mark Wilburn and Rev. Billy Jarrett officiating.
Burial will follow at High Pine Wesleyan Church Cemetery, Asheboro.
