Clarence Clinton Linthicum, age 91, of Randleman died Friday, November 16, 2012 at Hospice Home At High Point, in High Point, NC.
Clarence was born December 26, 1920 in Randleman, the son of Lewis Baxter and Stella Welborn Linthicum. Clarence served in the US Army during World War II, where he served in the European-African-Middle Eastern operations, during which he received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and seven other medals. He was the owner and operator of Linthicum's Garage for 16 years. He loved gardening and supplying his family and friends with vegetables. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Troy (Buck) Linthicum and sisters Margaret Stevenson and Mary Hughes.
Clarence is survived by his wife of 72 years: Dorothy Russell Linthicum; son: Larry Linthicum of Archdale; daughter: Lynn Harris and her husband Bill of Randleman; granddaughters, Anna Hawk and her husband Chris of Randleman and Dorothy Harris of Raleigh; great grandchildren, Taylor Ritch of Chapel Hill and Leah Ritch of Randleman.
The family will receive friends Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral will be held Monday, November 19, 2012 at 11:00 am at Sophia Baptist Church, 4082 Millikan Rd., Sophia with Rev. Bill Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
