Clarence Richard Liles, age 74, of 327 Hicks Rd., Candor died Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at his home.
Clarence was born October 24, 1940 at Troy, the son of the late Colon "Peck" Liles and Annie Poole Liles of Troy.
He was a retired truck driver with 22 years of service from Republic Services. Following his retirement he then began working at the Econo Station in Troy.
Clarence was a man who loved the outdoors, NASCAR Racing, westerns and listening to Blue Grass music. He loved people, never meeting a stranger and riding around. Mr. Liles was preceded in death by his father and one sister: Janet Liles Luther.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years: Nannie Harris Liles of the home; one daughter: Annette L. Dennis of Troy, and one son: Richard Lyles also of Troy; one sister: Linda Barnett of Kernersville, and two brothers: Carlton Liles of Mt. Gilead, Frankie Liles of Troy; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at his home. The funeral will be Sunday at 3:00 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Rutherford officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, Troy.
