Clarence Humble, age 92, of Asheboro died Sunday, January 28, 2018 at North Pointe Assisted Living Community.
Mr. Humble was born August 7, 1925 in Randolph County to Carl and Linnie McMasters Humble.
He was an Army veteran of WWII serving in Germany and a retired diesel mechanic. Mr. Humble was a member of First E & R United Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, Mr. Humble was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Johnston Humble, two brothers and four sisters.
He has had a very busy life and endured many things. He was a faithful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. His life was a witness of his love for God, family and friends. He was always willing to listen, lend a helping hand and just be there when needed.
He is survived by daughters, Peggy Lineberry and husband Joe of Ramseur, Kathryn Byrd and husband Jimmy of Longs, SC; grandchildren, Sandra Ditski and husband John, Sheri Moffitt, Angel Shirley and husband Keith; 5 great grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren; sisters, Mary L. Routh of Asheboro, Shirley Jean Shumate of Supply; brother, Clifford O. Humble of Haughton, LA.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 1:00 - 1:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro and other times at the home of his daughter, Peggy Lineberry. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 1, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Kennedy officiating. Burial with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
