Clara Mae Pierce Wright

Clara Mae Pierce Wright, age 94, of Asheboro died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 1:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Joe Yates officiating. Burial will be held in the Pleasant Cross Christian Church Cemetery. Mrs. Wright was born in Trinity on September 25, 1919 to John "Bid" and Maude Miller Pierce. She was a member of Jackson Creek Baptist Church and was formerly employed with B.B. Walker Shoe Company. In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her husband George Henry Wright, niece Margaret Ann Coley Shore, nephew Eummus "Buck" Coley, and several cousins. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Herman, Henry, and Morona Allred, Faye Chrisco, Jimmy, Tommy and Bobby Keeling, Sarah Coley, Martha Coley Kinney, Phyllis Coley Overman, Kaye Coley Smith, Raeford, Tommy, Jesse, and David Coley, Jimmy, Donald, Wanda, and Van Weaver, Vickie Kaminski, Carol McMasters; sisters-in-law, Pauline King, Jessie Mae Weaver, and Alline Wright. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home for the loving care given to Clara.
