Clara Lambert Neal, age 84, of Worth St. Asheboro died Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Carillon Assisted Living Of Asheboro, Asheboro.
The funeral will be Monday, June 30, 2008 at 11:00 at First United Methodist Church, 224 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro with Rev. Michael Holder officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
Mrs. Neal was born December 3, 1923, the daughter of John Robert Lambert and Kate Stinson Lambert. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Kenneth Dobson and John Neal; a sister Catherine Lambert Cox and her parents.
A native of Randolph County, Mrs. Neal was for several years an assistant in the Kindergarten program in the Asheboro City Schools. She was a Docent at the N.C. Zoological Park, a board member of Randolph Arts Guild, a member of Asheboro Woman's Club, and a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church.
For many years following WW II, Mrs. Neal was active in the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by: step daughters, Henriette "Hank" Neal Foster of Gastonia, NC, Lucette "Luke" Neal Pilkes of Paola, PA; step son, Fredrick "Fritz" Neal of Greensboro, NC; Step Granddaughters, Jessica Pilkes and Hannah Pilkes; sister: Margaret Lambert Wright of Asheboro, NC; Neices, Rosiland Walker of Asheboro, NC, Alice Aubele of Warrensburg, MO, Dale Klemm Walters of Pass Christian, MS; Nephew, Marty Wright of Charleston, SC
The family will receive friends Monday, June 30, 2008 from 10-11 AM prior to the service at
First United Methodist Church, 224 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC.
