Clara Jean Hoover

Clara Jean Davis Hoover, age 85, of Seagrove died Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at her home.

Mrs. Hoover was born December 7, 1932 in Randolph County to Wesley and Ethel Voncannon Davis. 

She loved to cook, read Christian fiction and eat at Golden Corral.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hoover was preceded in death by her daughter, Rachel Leach, brothers, Winfred, Ray and Arnold Davis and sisters, Maxine Cooper and Lola Mae Owen.

She is survived by her husband, Wiley Hoover; daughters, Becky Milks of Seagrove, Rhonda Onken and husband David of Asheboro; grandchildren, Joey Milks of Seagrove, Michael Glass of Asheboro, Chris Leach and wife Stacy of Harrisburg, Rick Leach and wife Bethany of Charlotte; step-grandson, Jamie Onken and wife Katherine of Archdale; step-granddaughter, Doris Onken of Florence, SC; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Clay Davis and wife Barbara of Seagrove.

The family will receive friends Monday, September 17, 2018 from 11:00-12:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro.  Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Howard McNeill and Rev. Clay Davis officiating. Burial will be in Asbury Baptist Church Cemetery in Seagrove.

The family would like to thank Dr. Christine McCarty, Kelly Moser and the staff of Randolph Cancer Center as well as Hospice of Randolph County for the care given to Mrs. Hoover during her illness.
