Clara McNeill Burgin

Clara McNeill Burgin, age 88, of 7166 Jordan Rd., Ramseur died Friday, July 5, 2013 at Universal Health Care of Ramseur. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 7, 2013 from 3:00-4:00 PM at Union Grove Baptist Church, 7912 Union Grove Church Rd., Seagrove. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM at Union Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Ronnie Chaney officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Burgin was born in Moore County on November 20, 1924 to John Henry and Janet Hancock McNeill. She served her country and retired as a WAVE and with the U.S. Naval Reserves. Clara was retired from the Department of Defense where she was employed as a Budget Analyst at the Pentagon. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her husband Jack Burgin and brothers, Charlie, Eugene, Stanley, and Robert (Bob) McNeill, and a special niece-in-law, Brenda McNeill. She is survived by her brother, Page G. McNeill of Seagrove; nieces and nephews, Karen Brewer of Asheboro, Stewart McNeill of Seagrove, Brent McNeill of Ramseur, Mark McNeill of Seagrove, Jean Evans of Greer, SC, Catherine Abbott of Taylors, SC, CharlesAnna Greene of Linwood, Diane Margolis of Ft. Pierce, FL, Sidney McNeill of Ramseur, Delia Kiser of Carolina Beach, Janet Hill of Asheboro, and David McNeill of Archdale. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Universal Healthcare of Ramseur for the care and concern given to Clara during her residency.
