Clara Routh Bulla, 88, of Asheboro died peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2011 at her home.
Mrs. Bulla was born April 10, 1923, in Randolph County, the daughter of the late Clarence and Ottie Routh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wayne Bulla, and brothers, Fred and Frank Routh, and sister, Wilma Routh Burrow.
She is survived by her daughter Anita Bulla Cox and husband David of Concord, NC; daughter Dinah Bulla Kirby of Emerald Isle, NC; son Kenneth (Sonny) Bulla, Jr. of Sevierville, TN; grandsons Jeff Cox of High Point, NC, Brad Kirby and fiancé Kelly Chandler of Chapel Hill, NC; granddaughter Suzannah Cox Pegram and husband Kyle of High Point, NC; and great-grandsons Samuel, Maxton and Tanner; and sister Jane Routh Reich of Winston-Salem, NC.
Clara was the first born of Clarence and Ottie Routh and lived in Randleman, NC until she was married in 1944. She and husband Ken lived and raised their family in the Balfour/Spero community in North Asheboro, NC. She was a long time member of the Balfour Home Extension Club and a member of West Bend United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at West Bend United Methodist Church, 1080 Albemarle Road, Asheboro, NC with Rev. David Cox and Rev. Drew McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow in the Charlotte United Methodist Church cemetery, 1182 Old Lexington Road, Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the Fellowship Hall at West Bend United Methodist Church from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m., and other times at the home at 404 Ashmont Court, Asheboro, NC.
