Christopher Adriel Ramirez Higinio, age 22, of Asheboro, departed this life.
Born on August 13, 2001, in Randolph County, NC, Christopher was a proud graduate of Asheboro High School. He went on to earn a Bachelors of Science degree from UNC-G, pursuing his passion for medicine with great dedication. At the time of his passing, he was completing his residency at the University of Vermont Medical Center, steadfast in his dream of becoming a doctor.
A member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Christopher exemplified compassion, as seen in his mission trip to Peru, where he worked to provide vaccinations for children in need. He embraced life with enthusiasm, finding joy in playing soccer, working out, and exploring nature through hiking. His adventurous spirit and love for dogs were hallmarks of his vibrant personality.
Christopher is survived by his mother and stepfather, Elizabeth Higinio Aguilar and Mario Sanchez; his siblings, Anthony Ramirez Higinio, Monserrat Sanchez Higinio, and Natselen Sanchez Higinio; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wide circle of friends who cherished him deeply.
He will be remembered for his kindness, passion, and the light he brought into the lives of all who knew him.
A mass will be held Monday, July 29, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 512 W. Wainman Ave., Asheboro with Father Phillip Kollithanath officiating. The family will receive friends following the service from 12-2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. Burial will follow at 2:30 pm in New Hope Memorial Gardens.

Nacido el 13 de agosto de 2001, en el condado de Randolph, Carolina del Norte, Christopher fue un orgulloso graduado de la Escuela Secundaria Asheboro. Pasó a obtener una Licenciatura en Ciencias de la UNC-G, persiguiendo su pasión por la medicina con gran dedicación. En el momento de su fallecimiento, estaba completando su residencia en el Centro Médico de la Universidad de Vermont, firme en su sueño de convertirse en médico.
Un miembro de La Iglesia Católica de St. Joseph, Christopher, ejemplificó la compasión, como se vio en su viaje misionero a Perú, donde trabajó para proporcionar vacunas a los niños necesitados. Abrazó la vida con entusiasmo, encontrando alegría al jugar al fútbol, hacer ejercicio y explorar la naturaleza a través del senderismo. Su espíritu aventurero y su amor por los perros fueron señas de identidad de su vibrante personalidad.
A Christopher le sobreviven su madre y su padrastro, Elizabeth Higinio Aguilar y Mario Sánchez; sus hermanos, Anthony Ramírez Higinio, Monserrat Sánchez Higinio y Natselen Sánchez Higinio; así como numerosas tías, tíos, primos y un amplio círculo de amigos que lo apreciaron profundamente.
Será recordado por su amabilidad, pasión y la luz que trajo a la vida de todos los que lo conocieron.
Se llevará a cabo una misa el lunes 29 de julio de 2024 a las 11:00 am en la Iglesia Católica de San José, 512 W. Wainman Ave., Asheboro con el Padre Phillip Kollithanath oficiando.
