Christine Mead Vuncannon, age 94, of Asheboro died Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mrs. Vuncannon was a native of Petersburg, VA and retired from Commonweath Hosiery after 34 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Randleman where she taught Sunday School for 35 years. Christine was a volunteer at Randolph Hospital and a hostess at Olde Towne Deli. Mrs. Vuncannon was preceded in death by her husbands: R. H. "Pete" Vuncannon and W. W. "Beau" Mead; son and daughter in law: Jack and Charlotte Mead; parents: Nellie Munford and Russell Walsh; sisters: Goldie Smith and Lois Finch; brothers: George Munford, John Wade Munford and Miller Walsh.
She is survived by one daughter: Carolyn Lineberry (Jim) of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren: Beau Mead (Sara) of Tega Cay, SC, Jackie Mead of Yelm, WA, Robert Mead (Leslie) of Jacksonville, FL, and Helen Thompson (Rob) of Kent, WA; 9 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; sister: Doris McIntosh of Wilson, NC and brother: Robert B. Munford (Sara) of Farmville, NC.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 1:00 - 2:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC.
A graveside service will held Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro with Dr. Steve Rainey officiating.
