Christine Lednum Memory

Christine Lednum Memory, age 86, of Sophia died Monday, July 29, 2013 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Mrs. Memory was born September 17, 1926 in Staley to William Luther and Rena Langley Lednum. She was retired from Asheboro Police Department and was a member of Balfour Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Memory was preceded in death by her husband, A. G. Memory, sons, Charles Douglas Pierce, Basher Pierce, sisters, Edith Lednum, Martha Lee Parks, Maxine Smith, and brother, William H. Lednum. Mama's greatest gift for her family was the love that she gave them. Now she is in Heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus. She is survived by her sons, Larry R. Pierce and his wife Delois of Asheboro, Jimmy W. Pierce of Sophia, William A. 'Tony' Pierce and his wife Cindy of Asheboro, Donald C. Pierce and wife Janice of Asheboro; brothers, Franklin Lednum of Liberty, Joe Winford Lednum and his wife Carolyn of Liberty; sister, Betty L. McPherson of Asheboro; stepson, Jimmy Memory of Kernersville; stepdaughter, Billie Memory of Charlotte; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Balfour Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth L. Reaves officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
