Chloe Waldrop Taylor, 96, of Asheboro, went to heaven on October 15th, 2012 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro, NC. Chloe was born in Vale, NC on March 16, 1916. She is preceded in death by her husband George Taylor, her mother Minnie Baker Waldrop, her father Reverend Joseph Judson Waldrop, two sisters, Luena (Chic) Lail and Sara Francis Waldrop, four brothers, Hershel, Bernard, Paul, and Jack Waldrop. Survivors include 2 daughters-Rita White of Asheboro, and Robin Hinson, of Hickory, and husband Ralph, one grandson Jason White of Asheboro, and wife Stacy, two granddaughters Jenny Waugh of Asheboro and husband Eric, and Brooke Johnson of Taylorsville and husband John, five great- grandsons-Noah and Luke White, Mason and Matthew Waugh, and Logan Johnson, one great- granddaughter-Chloe Johnson, one sister Kathleen Bumgardner of Charlotte, one step-granddaughter, Nancy Raines of Wake Forest, and husband Jason and children Jason Daniel and Hanna, two step grandsons, John Hinson, and Charlie Hinson and his children Nicole and Jeremiah, and many nieces and nephews. Chloe was a native of Vale, NC, in Lincoln County where she was a member and pianist at Hulls Grove Baptist Church for many years. She and her husband moved to Hickory and owned and operated Fairbrook Grocery store. After her husband passed away, she retired and moved to Asheboro with her daughter and family. She became a regular student at RCC taking courses in auto mechanics, floral arranging, and piano. She achieved her Certificate of Diploma from Liberty University for the General Bible Course in April of 2003. She was an active and faithful member of First Baptist Church and recently enjoyed fellowship with the 90's club there. A celebration of life will be held Saturday October 20th at 2:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro, with Dr. John Rogers, Reverend Charles Bullard, and Reverend Mark Hall officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Graveside service will be held in Vale, NC at the Hulls Grove Baptist Church cemetery, 6670 W. Hwy. 27, Vale, NC Sunday October 21st at 2:30 p.m., with Dr. Phillip Reynolds, of First Baptist Church, Hickory, officiating. The family extends a special thanks to Randolph Hospital CAPS program personnel-Marie Allred, Lois Wright, and Sherri Edwards. Also, special thanks to the Hospice House of Randolph County for all their love and support to our mother, grandmother, and family. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
