Chester Lawson, age 73, of 609 Bruton St., Troy died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at his home.
Mr. Lawson was born July 21, 1934 at Hazard, Kentucky, the son of the late Joe and the late Susie (Pugh) Lawson. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church of Biscoe. He was a retired salesman from Pitney Bowes and a US Navy veteran. He was a part-time employee at Central Lumber & Supply.
He is survived by his wife Dora Hill Lawson of the home; two sons: Tim Lawson and wife, Debra of Asheboro, and Chester Michael Lawson and wife, Angie of Sanford; 1 granddaughter, Renee Lawson of Indiana and 1 great-granddaughter, Claudia McKenzie of Indiana; 3 stepdaughters: Penelop Gladden and husband, Greg of Arkansas, Tamara Paolino and husband, Tan of Timmonsville, SC, Heather Sitton and husband, Johnny of Charlotte; 3 stepsons: Patrick Galloway and wife, Jackie of Patrick, SC, Andy Galloway and wife, Sandra of Lake Wylie, SC, Terry Galloway and wife, Kathy of Florence, SC; 12 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7-9 PM at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Troy, NC. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 am at Main Street Baptist Church, 2492 NC Hwy 24-27E, Biscoe with Dr. Jeff York and Rev. Ron Kruger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
