Charlotte Beth McKenzie-Pope, our sweet daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, niece and friend received her angel wings on Tuesday Oct. 10.
Her love for life and wonderful smile will be engraved on our hearts forever.
Charlotte graduated from Eastern Randolph HS and Pfeiffer University with a degree in Psychology. She continued her education at Kneaded Energy School and obtained her massage therapist license. Throughout Charlotte's life she was actively involved in sports playing volleyball, basketball and softball every year from middle school through high school. She was awarded the athlete of the year her senior year of high school and went on to play volleyball at Pfeiffer.
She married the "love of her life and soul mate" Peter Pope in 2015. Peter passed away in 2016 and Charlotte was so broken hearted and devastated she could hardly breathe.
Charlotte loved to make others laugh. She loved to jump out and scare people too. She loved her baby cat, Domino and her nephews Adin and Elim. She loved everyone. She was a special soul who does not come through this world very often. She loved her family and friends strongly and loved being a part of the Pope family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Peter W. Pope, her maternal grandparents, Marvin and Helen Rich and her paternal grandparents, Jack and Ruth McKenzie.
Charlotte is survived by her parents: Bill and Carolyn McKenzie; brother: Kyle (Michelle) McKenzie; nephews: Adin and Elim, many McKenzie cousins: (Greg, Sheri, Travis, Tiffany, Laura and Chad) and Rich, cousins: Amanda, Jamie, Clayton and Max, Jon, Christy, April and Renee; aunts and uncles: Tommy (Treva), Hal (Elaine), Carol (Tom), Mary, Becky, Don (Bev), and Henry (Joyce) and extended family and friends.
Charlotte worked as a counselor for mental health services, as a massage therapist at Hand and Stone Cary, The Umstead, The Spa at Lafayette in Raleigh and Fresh Salon in Asheboro.
Charlotte had many special friends and loved them all.
The family will receive friends Sunday, October 15th, 2:00 pm to 3:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC, prior to the Memorial Service at 4:00 pm in the Chapel with Pastor Josh LeRoy and Dr. J. F. Howard, Sr. officiating. Burial of Peter and Charlotte's remains will be at a later date.
