Charles Sylvester Willard, 78, passed away July 20, 2023 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 7, 1945 to Harvey Sylvester Willard and Annie Gladys (Highfill) Willard.
Mr. Willard was a veteran of the US Air Force and served during Vietnam. He was contractor and owner/operator of Charles Willard Builder. A lover of all farm animals, he was especially fond of cows and chickens. Mr. Willard was a charter member of the Red Cross Civitans and Hanks Masonic Lodge #128 AF & AM. He was also a member of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Swaim Willard; children, Ann McDaniel (Wayne)of Randleman, Amy Lyczkowski (Mark) of Sanford, Andy Willard (Patty) of Asheboro; grandchildren, Caroline McDaniel, Jamison McDaniel, Savannah Morgan, Cameron Clark, Colby Willard, Craig Brown, Chelsea Neal; seven great-grandchildren and one more on the way; brothers Bruce Willard (Bonnie) of Randleman, Kenneth Willard of Randleman; sisters, Diann Lane of New Bern, Gayle Black of Archdale. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Susan Willard and brother, Larry Willard.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 24, 2023 from 6-8pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 S. Main St in Randleman. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, July 25 at 2pm Pleasant Garden Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Barrett, Rev. Kevin Rollins and Rev. Marty Tobin officiating. Burial will follow at Level Cross United Methodist Church Cemetery with Randolph County Honor Guard providing Military Honors.
