Charles Timothy Moore, age 73, of Troy died Monday, September 10, 2018 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
Mr. Moore was born August 28, 1945 in Troy, NC, the son of the late Garland T. Moore and Eunice Roberts Moore.
He served in the First Air Calvary Division in Vietnam where he was also a Crew Chief on a Huey helicopter, for which he received 5 Air Medals, as well as the Vietnam Service Medal and numerous additional medals for his service. Upon returning to stateside, he served in the Third Special Forces group. He was past Commander of the Calvin C. Lewis Montgomery County Post of the VFW. He was past owner of Moore's Electric Motors in Troy. He worked in Sales for Hammond Electric Motors in Albemarle, and later retired from Purser Central Rewinding in Concord as a Vice President in Sales, having spent a total of 45 years in the Electrical Sales industry.
Tim is survived by his mother, Eunice Moore; one son: Todd Moore and wife Rhonda of Troy, NC; two sisters: Sissy King of Troy, NC and Debbie Ashby of Troy, NC; one brother: Tommy Moore of Troy, NC; granddaughters, Rebecca Moore of Salisbury, NC, and Sarah Pion of Albemarle, NC. He also leaves behind his canine friends, Gracie, Pretty Boy, Peedab, and Little Man. He was preceded in death by his father Garland T. Moore and brother, Gerald Moore.
Tim was known as an honest, respected, loyal man, with a kind heart. He loved the outdoors, looking for arrowheads, panning for gold, and using his metal detector searching for old metals, etc. and was an avid antique bottle collector.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery at a later date.
