Charles Irving Lomax, entered into rest on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Universal Health Care Of Ramseur, Ramseur, NC. Mr. Lomax was born July 25, 1922 in Richmond county, NC. He graduated from Hoffman High School, Hoffman, NC. With pride and honor he served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for Asheboro Plumbing and Heating as a Master Plumber and then as self employed for over 50 years. He retired only as health issues made him do so. He still offered advice and suggestions to anyone who needed his help.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy S. Lomax on February 18, 1995. His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Clyde Lomax (Kim) of Warner Robins, GA and Glenna Chriscoe (Roy) of Seagrove, NC. Brothers, Raymond (Anne) Lomax of Jackson Springs, NC, Roy (Mel) Lomax of Elizabethtown, NC. Four grandchildren, Elizabeth Thompson of Warner Robins, GA, Eric Suggs (Tomoko) of South Mills, NC, David Lomax of Athens, GA and Jason Suggs (Lizzie) of Seagrove, NC. Four great grandchildren, Zack and Sydney Thompson of Warner Robins, GA, Kailey and Kaiden Suggs of Asheboro, NC. Step grandchild, Ched Chriscoe of Seagrove, NC. Step great grandchildren, Holly and Christopher Chriscoe of Seagrove, NC. Several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at his daughter's home at 4572 Little Beane Store Rd., Seagrove, NC. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, September 3, 2012 at Browers Chapel United Methodist Church, 1030 Browers Chapel Road, Asheboro, NC. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Jesse, Pam, and Kevin Burrow, and Charles Frye for the many years of help they haven given to our parents, Allene Woodle for her companionship and care, to Lou Herzog who became his good friend in the later years of his life and to special niece, Sylvia, for the phone calls and food.
