Charles Henry Harrison, age 89, of Randleman died Monday, November 4, 2013 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.
Mr. Harrison was a native of Caldwell County and was a US Air Force Veteran during WWII serving as a tailgunner in the European Theatre, receiving five accommodations including the purple heart. After the war Charles and Doris made their home in New Salem. Charles retired from Norman Machine and Supply in Asheboro as Vice president and engineer. Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Pugh Harrison.
He is survived by one daughter: Wanda Harrison Boone, of New Salem; granddaughter, Ashley Sibbett and her husband, Brian of New Salem and granddaughter, Victoria Boone of Suwanee, Ga.; great grandchildren, Connor & MaKenna Sibbett.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 11:00 am at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro with military rites performed by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Rev. Joyce Bunn will be officiating. The family will receive friends following graveside service.
