Charles Douglas Graham, Jr., age 63, of 259 Dogwood Drive, Randleman died Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Mr. Graham was born March 22, 1946 in St. Pauls, NC the son of Charles Douglas, Sr. and Annie Irene West Graham. He was a native of Roberson County but spent most of his life in Randolph County and was a member of Sophia Christian Church. Mr. Graham was retired from Galey and Lord with thirty-eight years service and also from the Randolph County School System with five years service. Charles was what most called a good 'ol country boy. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, working in the yard, hanging around with his buddies, working crossword puzzles and being with his family. He had just recently retired and was looking forward to spending time traveling with his wife of 42 years. His greatest joy over the past few years has been spending time with his 4-year-old grandson, Cole, to whom he was affectionately known as "Papa". Charles will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Cole Graham, daughter: Kelly G. Kivette and husband Aaron of Pittsboro; son: Aaron Cole Graham of Randleman; sisters: Mary Nash Vestal and Keta Davis both of Sophia and Wanda Kinlaw of Asheboro; brother: Ricky Graham of Randleman; grandson: Cole Michael Kivette of Pittsboro.The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 8, 2009 from 6:30 until 8:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC and other times at the home. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Sophia United Church of Christ, 5747 U.S. 311 in Sophia with Rev. Jack Clark and Rev. Roger Brittingham officiating. Burial will follow in the Randolph Memorial Park Cemetery in Asheboro.
