Charles Griffin Goldston, age 83, of 1822 Britton Street, Greensboro died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Beacon Place, Greensboro.
Mr. Goldston was born November 19, 1929 in Ramseur, NC the son of Hurley Clarence Goldston and Ethel Delphina Waddell Goldston.
Mr. Goldston was a native of Randolph County. He served in the Armed Forces from March 30, 1951 to March 20, 1953. He received the Korean SVC Medal with 3 Bronze SVC Stars and the United Nations SVC Medal. He was married to Dorothy Ferree Goldston on April 10, 1954. He was a truck driver for Boren Brick Company. Charlie G as he was called, enjoyed fishing and trucks. Mr. Goldston is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ferree Goldston; daughter, Robyn Grant and son who died at birth, Scottie Goldston.
He is survived by his sons: Charles R. Goldston and his wife Barbara of Greensboro, Arthur Goldston of Greensboro, Maurice Goldston and his wife Sharon of Raleigh, Dwayne Goldston of Greensboro; his daughters: Patricia Moore and her husband William of Harrisburg, Connie Tate and her husband Reginald of Greensboro, Cynthia Robinson and her husband Barry of Statesville, Ethel Goldston of Greensboro, Denise Surgeon and her husband Tony of Greensboro; 2 brothers; 4 sisters; 22 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 9:30-10:30 AM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am at Harshaw Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 3840 Bowman Rd., Randleman with Barry Robinson officiating.
