Charles Edward Gauze, 82, of Asheboro went to Heaven on December 2, 2019.
He was born on November 4, 1937 in Williamson, WVA to Perry Gauze and Brady McCoy. Preceding in death are his parents, grandparents, Ed (Poppy) and Cordie Gauze, one brother, Stewart Gauze, and three sisters, Dorothy Bentley, Mary Kohl, and Marie Anders.
Chuck was of the Christian faith and loved Jesus Christ. He had a career in repairing appliances and selling new and used furniture. At one time he had three store locations in Glenola, High Point, and Randleman known as Gauze Appliance Repair. Chuck loved to deer hunt, camp, and be outdoors, especially ginseng hunting. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joyce Montgomery Gauze; six children, Tammy (Opie) Wolford of Phelps, KY, Fred Gauze of Chatham, VA, Steven Gauze of Waynesville, NC, Judy (Daniel) Wilson of Sophia, NC, Nancy (Keith) Byrd of Lexington, NC, and Bobby Gauze of Asheboro, NC; sixteen grandchildren, Ashley Gauze, Shannon Gauze, Perry (Ashley) Gauze, Adam (Ashley) Wilson, Dee (Chelsea) Wilson, Tara (Jonathan) Steele, Calvin (Ashley) Stephens, Erica (Wesley) and baby Bentley Charles Perryman, Savanna and Racheal Gauze, Brad (Samantha) Gauze, Brittany McKinney, Chad (Tabitha) Gauze, Joshua (Claudette) Wolford, Keri (Brandon) Madon, and Curtis (Dinah) Wolford; thirty three great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one special sister, Loretta Robinette of Williamson, WVA; three brothers, Ellioc (Danny) Gauze of Zion, IL, Gene (Wendy) Gauze of Fancy Gap, VA, and David Wolford of Pleasant Prairie, WI; his loving dog, Gunner; and several loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express a special thanks to all the Hospice workers that came out to show our Daddy such love and care.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 10:30 am-11:45 am at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 12 noon at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Davis officiating. His final resting place will be in New Hope Memorial Gardens in Asheboro, NC.
