Charles Edwards

Charles Edwards, age 89, formerly of 210 Spencer St., Randleman died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Mr. Edwards was a native of Yancey County and an army veteran of WWII. Mr. Edwards was a member of Freedom Life Church of God and is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Edwards. He is survived by daughters, Charlene Trotter and her husband, Wade of Randleman, NC; daughter, Connie Cole and her husband, Kenneth of Randleman, NC sons: John Elkes of Asheboro, NC, Howard Elkes of Archdale, NC; son, Mike Edwards and his wife, Betty of Trinity, NC; grandchildren, Roland Trotter of Randleman, NC; Joel Elkes of Asheboro, NC; Carrie Welborn of Pleasant Garden, NC; Stacy Elkes of Benson; Mandi Whatley of Sophia, NC; Keisha Edwards of Asheboro, NC; Bonnie Edwards of Asheboro, NC; Kim Hunsucker of Sophia, NC; Great Grandchildren, Tanner, Madison, Ella, Kelsie, Michael, Alanah, Adriana, Briana, Jonathan and Caleb; sister, Carlene Slack of Denton. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 18, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC and other times at the home of Charlene Trotter, 765 Old Castle Dr., Randleman. The funeral will be Friday, March 19, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 600 South Main Street, Randleman with Rev. Benjamin T. Chavis officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
