Charles Ray "Red" Delk, 93, of Asheboro, passed away on January 1, 2022 at home. Mr. Delk was born on October 5, 1928 in Randolph County to Robert and Mary Delk. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving with the82nd Airborne Division. Mr. Delk, along with Ralph Allred, founded A & D Quality Construction. He was a long-time member of Pinewood Country Club and enjoyed golfing and fishing. In addition to his parents, Mr. Delk was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Delk, grandchild, Alex Delk and sister, Katherine Stinson. Mr. Delk is survived by his wife, Carolyn Maness Delk; sons, Charles R. Delk, Jr.and wife Sarah of Asheboro, Mark Delk and wife Holly of Asheboro, Ken Delk and fiancee Patricia Hancock of Seagrove, Scott Delk and wife Michelle of Randleman; daughter, Karen Delk Prillaman and husband Kent of Franklinville; grandchildren, Tyler Delk, Wesley Delk, Austin Delk, Lee Delk, Adam Delk, Christine Sulzer, Sarabeth Prillaman and Andon Delk; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley McNeill and husband Buddy of Asheboro, Lib Copple of Asheboro, Barbara Maness of Asheboro and dog companion, Boodus. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022, 5:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Ave. Asheboro. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Randolph, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203.
