Charles Donald Cox, Sr.

Charles Donald "Don" Cox, Sr., age 74, of 2683 Marsh Mountain Rd., Sophia died Friday, October 12, 2012 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Mr. Cox was born November 27, 1937 the son of John Wesley and Mary Emma Woods Cox. Mr. Cox was a native of Randolph County and of Baptist Faith. He retired after 44 years of service from Galey & Lord ofAsheboro. Don loved racing especially Saturdays evenings at Caraway Speedway cheering his son, Junior to victory and was a huge NASCAR fan. He loved his family and friends. He is survived by his wife: Peggy Julian Cox, daughters: Youlanda Moore and her husband, Neal of Liberty, Donna Gallimore and her husband, Gary of Asheboro; son: Charles Donald "Junior" Cox, Jr. and his wife, Diane of Asheboro; grandchildren: Daniel, Brandon, Melissa and Sharon; great grandchildren: Cheyenne, Hailey, Brianna and Alexis; sister: Opal Maness of Asheboro and brothers: Phillip and Larry Cox both of Asheboro. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 600 South Main Street, Randleman with Rev. Todd Moore and Rhonda Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
