Charles Edward "Charlie" Cox, age 71, of 1126 Timberlane, Asheboro died Friday, August 10, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Moger and Rev. David Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Memorial Gardens with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Cox was born on September 13, 1940 in Randolph County to Percy Lee and Leoline Routh Cox. Charlie served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Ramseur. He was retired as Contractor Sales Manager with Lowe's Hardware and was employed with The Courier-Tribune for 10 years. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his sisters Ruth Lineberry, Mary Routh Underwood, brother John Page Cox, step daughter Karen Kirkman McKinney, and step grandson Brett Franklin Long. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Stockwell Cox; daughter, Lisa Cox Edmisten and her husband Jeff of Bear Creek, NC; son, Kevin Lee Cox and his wife Kimberly of Asheboro, NC; step daughter, Kim Kirkman of Supply, NC; granddaughters, Jill McKinney, Katelyn Edmisten, Jordan Cox; grandsons, Brian Long, Jr., Brandon Long, Adam Edmisten; great grandchildren, Trey Sawyer, Mackinsey Sawyer, Elisha Long, Derrick Long, Adam Long, Dixie Marie Long, Cara Long; sisters, Blanche Powell of Randleman, NC, Doris Beason of Franklinville, NC, Rachel Davis and her husband Wade of Randleman, NC, Irene Surratt of Randleman, NC, Louvelia Morris and her husband Henry of Asheboro, NC, Margaret Ester of Randleman, NC, Martha Williamson of Randleman, NC; brothers, James Ray Cox and his wife Ruth of Asheboro, NC, Wayne Cox and his wife Delores of Asheboro, NC, Percy Cox, Jr. and his wife Ernestine of Myrtle Beach, SC. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Memorials may be made to Community Home Care & Hospice, 533 S.
