Cecil Lewis Moore

Cecil Lewis Moore, age 82 of Asheboro, died Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.

Mr. Moore was born April 6, 1936 to Hoyle Lee and Beatrice Pearce Moore.  Cecil was a native of Randolph County. He retired from Black & Decker and from the Navy Reserve as a SeaBee. Cecil also worked at the NC Zoo as a tram driver. He is preceded in death by both of his parents; first wife, Imogene Brower Moore; son, Mark Moore; and brother, Troy Lee Moore.  

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Russell Moore; daughter, Lynne Moore Owens and husband Byron of Asheboro; brothers, Bryson Moore of Inman, SC and Terry Moore of Holly Springs; grandchildren, Victoria Owens, Matthew Owens and Elizabeth Owens; and great grandchild, Rosalie.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 25, 2019 from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to funeral service at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.  The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Moore officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Seagrove with Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
