Cathy Holland

Catharine "Cathy" Holland, age 86, of 2285 Bethel Church Road, Pleasant Garden died Friday, October 21, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Holland was born July 19, 1925 the daughter of James Franklin and Minnie Allison Woods. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 12:30 - 1:45 PM at Providence Friends Meeting, 2054 Providence Church Road, Pleasant Garden. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Brandon Dockery and Wayne Fogleman officiating. Burial will be in the Meeting Cemetery. Cathy was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a talented artist who enjoyed sewing, cooking, pottery and making porcelain dolls. She was a native of Hillsborough, NC where she graduated from high school in 1943. After that, she attended Montreat College, and then worked in the Pentagon and at Sears Mail Order in Greensboro. She has been a member of Providence Friends Meeting for many years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother: Lindsey Woods. She is survived by her husband: Bill Holland and four sons: Jamie Holland of Pleasant Garden, NC, David and his wife Janet Holland of Pleasant Garden, NC, Jon Holland of Roanoke, VA, Joe and his wife Michele Holland of Asheboro, NC; granddaughters: Brooke Holland; Kate Holland, Jordan Holland, Sidnie Holland, and grandsons: Noah and Josh Holland.
