Carrie Waynick Sewell

Carrie Elizabeth Waynick Sewell, age 91, of 346 Woodcrest Road, Asheboro died Saturday, December 22, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Sewell was born August 25, 1921 the daughter of Lewis Clyde and Mary Elizabeth Smith Waynick. Mrs. Sewell is a native of Guilford County and a homemaker. She was a member of Central Falls United Methodist Church and proceeded in death by her husband: Cecil Sewell, two sisters: Treva Allen and Eva Scott. An inspiration to many and a friend to everyone, Carrie spent a life of caring for others and serving the Lord. A volunteer at Clapps Nursing Home for over a decade, a member of home extension for 60 years, a world traveler, visiting over 30 countries, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. An adventurous lady who lived her life to the fullest. Despite all the good she did the thing people will remember most about her is her strong Christian faith, everything she did was to glorify God. She has now come to the time for which she lived, this is not the end but only the beginning. "Blessed are the dead which die in The Lord, for they will rest from their hard work; for their good deeds will follow them." For those of us that knew Carrie we know she will not rest for long for there is lots of work to be done! She is survived by one daughter: Pat Moffitt and her husband, Tommy of Asheboro, son: Ronnie Sewell and his wife, Kathi of Ramseur, 2 grandchildren: Jordan Moffitt of Asheboro, Canaan Ward and her husband, Chase of Myrtle Beach, SC; and best friend: Betty Hutchens. The family will receive friends at Carries home from 10am-4:30pm Wednesday, December 26, 2012 and also from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Rev. Doug Gage officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro. Memorials may be made to Central Falls United Methodist Church, 11436 Pennsylvania Ave., Asheboro, NC 27203.
