Carrie Mae Burris McRae

Carrie Mae Burris McRae, age 85, formerly of 221 Pee Dee Road, Mt. Gilead, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Trinity Place, Albemarle. Mrs. McRae was born May 30, 1927 at Stanly County, NC, the daughter of Ira and Theresa Hatley Burris. She was of the Baptist faith and a former sales clerk. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jack McRae, Sr., three sisters, Evelyn Speight, Edna Tucker and Janet Hudson, one brother, Cecil Burris. She is survived by three sons: Gary Wynn Teeter of Lake Worth, Florida, Steven Arthur Teeter of Oakboro, and Donald Ray Teeter of Raleigh; 6 grandsons, 3 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Betty Napier and Pat Shaver, both of Albemarle; 2 brothers: Jim Burris and Kenneth Burris, both of Albemarle. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Troy. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 am at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rod Denny officiating. A private graveside service will be held Monday, February 18, 2013 in Pinecrest Cemetery, Lake Worth, Florida.
