Carolyn Cranford Phillips, age 87, of Asheboro died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Cross Road Retirement Community.
Mrs. Phillips was born in Randolph County on August 25, 1927 to Leon and Ruth Edwards Cranford. She was a graduate of High Point College and was a retired school teacher with the Randolph County School system. Carolyn was a member of First United Methodist Church and in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Phillips.
She is survived by her sons, Bobby Phillips and wife Patti, John Phillips and wife Julie, daughter, Jane Wood and husband Bob all of Asheboro; grandchildren, Carol Wood, Luke Phillips, Lindsey Wood, Taylor Wood, Chad Phillips, John Phillips, Jr., Owen Phillips, Chase Hunt; and 9 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 am at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Friday at 11:00 am at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Johnny R. Henderson and Gary Mason officiating. Burial will be in Asheboro City Cemetery.
