Carolyn Way Hancock

Carolyn Sue Way (Bobbie) Hancock, age 71, of 440 Westbury Drive, Asheboro died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Hancock was a native of Randolph County, born March 13, 1940 to the late Glenn E. and Jessie Williams Way. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Way Stutts. She was employed by General Electric and retired from Black & Decker, and was a member of Rushwood Park Wesleyan Church, where she was a member of the choir and Mary's Willing Workers Sunday School class. Survivors include her husband, Gene B. Hancock of the home; one daughter, Vickie H. Wright and husband Joey of Denton; sons, Greg Hancock and wife Connie of Asheboro, Gary Hancock and wife Juliet of Greenville, SC, Keith Hancock and wife Louise of Sterling, VA; 8 grandchildren, Amanda Hancock, Sarah Hancock, and Jacob Hancock all of Asheboro, Joshua Hancock and Megan Hancock both of Greenville, SC, Ethan Hancock, Jared Hancock, and Alex Hancock all of Sterling, VA; 2 step-grandchildren, Wendy Wright and Crystal Jones and 2 step-great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Way Stutts of Asheboro; brothers, Larry Way and wife Elaine of Ramseur, Dean Way and wife Ann of Little River, SC; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Faye Jankovich of Sun Lakes, AZ. The funeral will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at her home.
