Carolyn Hall Ashburn

Carolyn Hall Ashburn, age 80, of Mt. Gilead died Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Sandy Ridge Assisted Living, Candor. Mrs. Ashburn was born November 1, 1935 at Biscoe, NC the daughter of John Farley and Edith McLeod Hall. Mrs. Ashburn was a native of Montgomery County; she was a member of Flint Hill Christian Church and a retired employee of Norwood Yarn Sales. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Jesse Ashburn; daughter: Corlis Lynne Ashburn; siblings: Peggy Wise, Robert Hall and Johnny Hall. Carolyn is survived by two daughters: Melissa A. Freeman and her husband, Tommy of Runaway Bay, TX; Gay A. Rich and husband, Marty of Troy, NC; grandchildren: Mary Alcaras and husband, Justin of Denton, NC, Rachel Luc and husband, Chris of Matthews, NC and John Freeman of Runaway Bay, TX; two great grandchildren: Isaiah Alcaras and Davis Luc; brother: Glenn Hall of Lynchburg, VA. The family will receive friends at the home of Gay and Marty Rich, 544 Dairy Road, Troy, NC. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Wadeville Baptist Church Cemetery, Shoe Factory Rd., Mt. Gilead with Rev. Hubert McLeod and Rev. Jim Hunsucker officiating.
