Carol G. Shackelford

Carol G. Shackelford, age 71, of Asheboro died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Mrs. Shackelford was born June 27, 1941 the daughter of Henry Alton and Myrtle Garner. Mrs. Shackelford was a native of Randolph County and was employed with Camp Caraway as a cook. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she served as their pianist. Carol enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and cooking for her family especially desserts during the holidays. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Shackelford and son, Arnold Robbins. She is survived by three sons: Phillip Shackelford and his wife, Paula of Asheboro, NC, David Robbins and his wife, Theresa of Randleman, NC, Buddy Shackelford and his wife, Kim of Wilson, NC, daughter: Sherry Moore and her husband, Terry of Wilson, NC, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and one sister: Jan Slack and her husband, Howard of CO. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 605 Worthville St., Randleman with Rev. John Mills officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro. Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman has the honor of serving the Shackelford family.
