Carol Mickey Schuster, age 59, of 258 Riverbend Road, Troy died Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at First Health Hospice House, Pinehurst.
Carol was born May 31, 1954 at High Point, NC the daughter of Frank Joseph and Mary Lee Jackson Mickey. She was of the Christian faith.
Carol was a twelve year employee of Southern Correctional Institution. Prior to her illness she was a Unit Manager. She also worked part time at Greensboro airport as a parking attendant.
Carol was an avid potter, having taken pottery classes at Montgomery Community College to improve her skills. She also enjoyed quilting and watching sci-fi movies.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Frank Joseph Mickey, II.
She is survived by two daughters: Gina Koutnik and husband, Pat of Pleasant Garden, Rachel Miller and husband, Nathan of Concord; one son: Christopher Schuster of Central, SC; seven grandchildren: Jackson, Reece and Shelby Koutnik, Luke, Meredith, Maddison and Henry Miller; one sister: Sandra Barden of Burlington; one brother: Frank Joseph "Jodie" Mickey, III of Kernersville.
A service to celebrate the life of Carol will be Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 2:00 pm at her residence with Pastor Theron Hobbs officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service. A time to reflect on Carol's life will be observed during this time.
