Carol McGovern Stauffer, 62, of Asheboro passed away Saturday January 4, 2014 at Randolph Hospital.
She is survived by her husband John P. Stauffer of the home, and her son John K. Stauffer, daughter-in-law Bekah, and beloved grandson Noah of Siler City. Additionally she leaves two brothers, Terry McGovern and Kenny McGovern both of Bradenton, Florida as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Osmon as well as her parents.
She was a native of New York City and while in school lived in London, England; Norfolk, Virginia; and Richmond, Virginia. She was a graduate of Old Dominion University and received a M.B.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University. Professionally, she was employed by: Robertshaw Controls, Richmond, Virginia; Media General, Richmond, Virginia and Tampa, Florida; General Electric, Largo, Florida; and Reynolds Metals, Richmond, Virginia.
She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Asheboro where she served as an usher, deacon, treasurer and part-time receptionist. She especially enjoyed the fellowship of her friends in Circle 2.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

Additionally the family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Randolph Hospital for their exceptional professionalism.
