Carol Barnhill Hamilton, age 72, of 3986 Love Joy Road, Troy died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.
Mrs. Hamilton was born October 30, 1938 in Conway, SC the daughter of Homer and Eva Veren Barnhill. She had been a resident of Montgomery County for several years. She attended Flint Hill Church of God and was a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, bluegrass music and her flower gardening. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; her family always came first. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Tim Hamilton, two brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years: Nathan Spencer Hamilton, Jr., of the home; two daughters: Gwen Potter and husband Rick, of Denton, Debbie Essick of Randleman; four sons: Maurice Nathan Hamilton and wife Diane, of Troy, Charles (Chuck) Hamilton and fiancé Freida Cox Coleman, of Ramseur, Daryel Hamilton and wife Lanette, of Randleman, Dennis Hamilton and wife Lisa, of Sophia; one sister: Clara Hughes and husband Wayne, of Loris, SC; one brother: Clifton Barnhill and wife Florence, of Myrtle Beach, SC; 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and 5 step-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Sunday at 2:00 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy with Rev. Billy Chrisco and Rev. Hubert McLeod officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
