Carol King Ellison, age 77, of New London died Monday, May 6, 2019 at Randolph Hospice House.
Mrs. Ellison was born October 21, 1941 in Asheboro to Elbert and Laura Boyles King.
She was a very talented musician and was a member of Chandlers Grove United Methodist Church in New London where she was the church pianist. Mrs. Ellison was employed at Burlington Industries (Kayser-Roth) for 20 years and retired from Georgia Pacific in Asheboro after 28 years of service. She loved everyone and was the first director of the Women's Center in Asheboro. Through the years, Carol enjoyed hunting in the western states with her husband Fred and watching her children and grandchildren play sports. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ellison was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Darrell Yow.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Talmadge Ellison; sons, Scotty Yow of Asheboro, Tim Yow and wife Arlene of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Adam Yow, PFC Nicolas Yow, Cassidy Yow; brother, Jerry King and wife Susan of Seagrove; nieces, Jennifer King, Carol Espique and husband Edmond; great nephew, Nolan Espique.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 13, 2019 from 10:30-11:45 pm at Chandlers Grove United Methodist Church, 2535 Blaine Road, New London. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 noon with Rev. Steve Phillipi and Rev. Derold Smith officiating. Graveside and committal service will be at 3:00 pm in Whynot Cemetery, 724 Fork Creek Mill Rd., Seagrove. The family will receive friends afterwards in the old church.
