Carlene Miller Lamb, age 81, of 944 Bray Blvd., Asheboro died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church, 300 South Main Street, Asheboro with Dr. Terry L. Matthews and Dr. Mark J. Key officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
Mrs. Lamb was born in Randolph County on April 24, 1931 to Howard and Hazel Davis Miller, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church where she taught children's Sunday School class and was a former den mother. Carlene was an avid knitter and needleworker and for years she made hats for the newborn babies at Randolph Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 65 Years, Frank Lamb; sons, Kevin Lamb and his wife Charlene of Trinity, Norman Lamb and his wife Jane of High Point, Kyle Lamb and his wife Jeanne of Asheboro; daughter, Kerri Lamb of Asheboro; grandchildren, Joe Lamb and his wife Carla of Asheboro, Mark Lamb and his wife Jenny of Randleman, Will Lamb of Durham, Reba Lamb of Greensboro, Krystal Lamb of Trinity; great grandchild, Carson Joseph Lamb of Asheboro; brother, Steve Miller and his wife Becky of Asheboro; sisters, Diane Hayes and her husband Steve of Winston-Salem; Zelma Reeder of Asheboro, Phyllis Lewallen of Asheboro; and beloved pets, Sydney and Barley.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of Kyle and Jeanne Lamb, 1217 Timberlane, Asheboro.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Randolph Hospital and to the ICU staff, especially Melisa Wallace and Dr. Sidney Blake, for the excellent care given to Carlene.
